Yesterday the Big Ten conference enticed fans to a Super Wednesday double header.
In the first game No. 23 Iowa trounced Penn State and then following that game Illinois shocked the conference and obliterated Minnesota.
Tonight there is only one Big Ten game on television and it appears to be a great game, at least on paper.
No. 6 Michigan State vs. Nebraska:
Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska will be electric tonight as the Nebraska Cornhuskers will look for a signature home win against Tom Izzo and his squad.
Coming off an impressive 66-51 victory over No. 25 Indiana head coach Tim Miles will attempt to keep the momentum going for the Cornhuskers.
A win tonight for Nebraska would almost surely propel them into the Top 25 in the AP Poll which would be huge in helping them make the NCAA Tournament. Currently they are the only power 5 school that has yet to win a game in the tournament, but this could be the year they breakthrough.
The Spartans are currently undefeated in conference play and are in contention to win the Big Ten.
At the moment it is doubtful Michigan State junior guard Joshua Langford will suit up for the game.
He has missed the last four games with an ankle injury. On the season he is averaging 15 ppg.
Last Meeting: Dec. 3, 2017. Michigan State won at home 86-57.
Key Players: Nick Ward is one of the best big men in the Big Ten. On the season he averages 16.6 ppg. Isaac Copeland Jr. had a rough game last year against the Spartans only shooting 1 for 9 on the day with 4 points. He will look to bounce back and score around his 14.3 ppg average.
Betting Lines: MSU -1.5, o/u 146.0
Prediction: This game serves as a coming out party for the Nebraska basketball program. The Cornhuskers are led by three seniors Copeland, Palmer and Watson. Although Michigan State comes prepared with talent and experience as well tonight will be Nebraska’s night at home. Nebraska wins a close one 75-73.
