The Cleveland Cavaliers have had a tumultuous last twelve months. Kyrie Irving demanded a trade. LeBron James reportedly wanted to have the trade rescinded. Dan Gilbert and Koby Altman felt otherwise and traded the disgruntled Irving. That was the beginning of the end.
Following another heartbreaking NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors, James opted to take his talents to Hollywood with the Los Angeles Lakers where Klutch Sports, LeBron’s sports management company, along with Uninterrupted James’ entertainment company are headquartered. It also didn’t help that James’ son wanted to play high school ball with Scottie Pippen’s and Kenyon Martin’s sons in Los Angeles
The other reason for King James leaving the Land is the fact owner Dan Gilbert and LeBron’s dismay for the Kyrie trade permeated during free agency this past summer. Magic Johnson was able to sell James on the Lakers, teaching James how to be a successful businessman off the court.
Back to the Caviliers, if Dan Gilbert keeps Kyrie in Cleveland, LeBron probably stays in the Land, the roster would’ve been gutted, and potentially could have bolstered a Kyrie, LeBron, and Anthony Davis lineup with Kevin Love being the odd man out
Currently, the Caviliers are left with the third worst record in the NBA in the aftermath of Kyrie and LeBron’s departures. The only hope without tampering to get some superstars is to lose on purpose to obtain a lottery pick. Hopefully with that pick comes Zion Williamson and hope for this Cleveland franchise.
